Research interests

She holds Dipl Eng (2004) & BEng (2006) & MSc in Computer Science Engineering (2008) by the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU). In February 2021 she has been granted the Computer Engineering Doctorate by the Faculty of Computer Science of the UPV/EHU (Basque Country, Spain), with a thesis on the involvement of users in technological research projects including an analysis of ethical procedures, methodologies and tools and a proposal for improvement aimed at older people. She worked in XMadina Adaptive Technology from 2004 to 2007 in research and development projects related to the field of disability. Then she worked in VICOMTech in the area of “Interaction for education, leisure and e-inclusion” (May-December 2007). She has been working in the Health Unity of TECNALIA since late 2007, and she has been responsible for user testing and clinical trials with medical devices since 2009. She has also been responsible for ethical and legal aspects related to clinical trials and human experiments in the Health Division. Research areas are User eXperience (UX), usability, accessibility, and bioethics. She has wide experience in usability testing and ethical protocol design for human evaluations and clinical trials with medical devices. She did several specific training related onmedical devices certification processes in the last years. She has been participating in the Ethical Committee for Research related to Human Beings in the University of the Basque Country (CEISH) since 2018. She has also been the Activity Leader of the EIT Health project called MERLIN.
