Holds Dipl Eng (2004) & BEng (2006) by the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU). In 2021 she obtained her PhD in Computer Science Engineering with a thesis on user involvement in technological research projects, including an analysis of ethical procedures, methodologies, and tools, and a proposal for improvement aimed at elderly. She worked in XMadina Adaptive Technology from 2004 to 2007 in research and development projects in the field of disability. She later worked in VICOMTech in the area of “Interaction for education, leisure and e-inclusion” (May-December 2007). Since the end of 2007, she has been working in the Health Unit of TECNALIA. Her research areas are User eXperience (UX), user centered design (UCD), usability, accessibility, and bioethics. She has wide experience in organizing and conducting usability testing and designing protocols for experiments with humans and clinical research with medical devices, including the applicable ethical and regulatory aspects. In recent years, she has been specifically trained in medical device certification processes. Since 2018, she has been participating in the Ethical Committee for Research related to Human Beings in the University of the Basque Country (CEISH). She has also been the Activity Leader of the EIT Health project called MERLIN (2019-2020) and she is also responsible for the signal and neuromechanics laboratories of the department.
