Dr. Alain Gil Del Val is an Industrial Engineer (2006) and Doctor of Industrial Engineering (2010) from Tecnun-University of Navarre. He worked as a researcher at Tecnun-Universidad de Navarra (20010-2011) and as an Assistant Professor at the Public University of Navarra (2011-2019). Since 2019, he works at TECNALIA RESEARCH & INNOVATION-BRTA in Intelligent Manufacturing Processes Department.

His expertise is focused on monitoring advanced manufacturing operations to control and diagnosis the health of the process using Artificial Intelligence techniques. Besides, he has a great expertise related to hybrid processes (additive and subtractive) using metal and technical polymeric materials. His research lines include signal monitoring, cutting process (tapping, turning, milling and drilling), condition monitoring, manufacturing process optimization, prognosis process, hybrid manufacturing processes and metal/technical polymeric materials. He has participated in the development of local, national and European research projects. He has published 40 articles in internationally prestigious indexed journals and has participated in several international conferences. Moreover, he has supervised and co-supervised more than 50 bachelor and master thesis.
