Graduate in Physics, specialising in Electronics and Automation, from the University of the Basque Country-UPV (1988). Master's degree in Robotics and Automation from ROBOTIKER (1990).

He joined ROBOTIKER in 1990 in the Industrial Design department, later moving to the Information Technology department.

He currently holds the position of senior researcher at TECNALIA R&I, a centre resulting from the absorption in January 2011 of, among others, ROBOTIKER Technology Centre

The main areas of expertise are in the design and development of artificial vision applications, hyperspectral technologies and the integration of industrial systems using databases and industrial communications.

He has been involved in numerous R&D projects both under direct contract with companies and financed by the Central or Autonomous Government, some of which are listed below:
