Personal profile
ShortBio
Chemistry Degree, specialty polymers (San Sebastian, 2000) and Advance Studies Diploma in Chemical Engineering (San Sebastián, 2003) University of Basque country. Researcher at the University of the Basque Country and POLYMAT until 2008 performing Mixing analysis in polymerization reactors by means of CFD coupled with kinetic modelling and rheological and thermal Characterization of polymers, copolymers and nanocomposites. From 2011 he has been working in TECNALIA (former CIDEMCO) in the sustainability department where he has been involved in Global sustainability modelling, sustainable materials management, ecolabels, biodegradation and compostability process implementation and testing, and environmental risk assessment. Professional experience in Colloidal systems (synthesis and characterization), data analysis, parameter estimation and experimental design; chemical process control, thermodynamics and environmental chemistry, process modelling and simulation, using home-made codes and commercial codes; CFD codes to study emulsion polymerization reactions including polymerization kinetics as user defined functions and combining hydrodynamic data with detailed home-made polymerization models; rheological characterization of dispersed systems (emulsion polymers) using oscillatory and continuous flow techniques and of fused polymers using oscillatory and continuous flow techniques as well as thermal characterization and extrusion rheology; regulatory affairs assistance mainly for chemical products (REACH Regulation) and biocidal products; chemical analysis of pure substances, mixtures, commercial products and aquatic environmental samples; Degradation, biodegradation and compostation processes. From 2022 is the Programmes Manager of the Lab Services unit as pat of the Technology and Market department in Tecnalia.
