Mr. Alfonso Domínguez is Bachelor in Telecommunications Engineering specialized in Radio-Communications at the Engineering High School of Bilbao (2007, Basque Country University, Spain), Master of Science in Assistive Technologies for Personal Autonomy at the Basque Country University (2011) and Master of Science in Control, Automation and Robotics Engineering at the Basque Country University (2014).
He has been working in Tecnalia since 2007 where he incorporated into the Health division. He has a lot of experience in the development of SW in such diverse fields as home automation and environment control, eHealth and telecare, and geographic information systems and location based services.
In the past few years, he has oriented his activity to the development and research in robotic platforms which involves the human in the control loop. He has taken part in national and international research projects focused on mobile platforms, collaborative robotics, surgical robotics, tele-operation and exoskeletons: FLORENCE (Multi Purpose Mobile Robot for Ambient Assisted Living), STIFF-FLOP (Stiffness Controllable Flexible and Learn-able Manipulator for surgical Operations), BROCA (Teleoperated Multi Arm Robotic System for Minimally Invasive Surgery), ZERES (Development of a new prototype of a lightweight electric wheelchair), DARTS (Teleoperated dual arm robot for radioactive samples manipulation- Idaho Labs), EXTENSOR(technologies for the improvement of the usability of the exoskeletons in workspaces), EUROBENCH (EUropean ROBotic framework for bipedal locomotion), EXODYN (Exoskeleton for the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders in working environments), INTEX (Next Generation AI based Testbeds for Wearable Robotics) and HUMANTECH(Human-centred technologies for a safer and greener construction industry).
