Andoni Aranguren Ubierna was born in Sodupe, Bizkaia. He studied Computer Engineering with a specialization in Computing at the University of the Basque Country.
His final degree project involved a study in which he applied ML techniques to the public procurement market. This study was later revisited, expanded, and published in 'Award Price Estimator for Public Procurement Auctions Using Machine Learning Algorithms: Case Study with Tenders from Spain' – Studies in Informatics and Control – ICI Bucharest by a group of researchers from the UPV and the University of Oviedo.
He has 2.5 years of experience as a data scientist at Eurohelp/Amatech, where he participated in the complete pipeline of AI projects (data collection, transformation, persistence, model design, dockerization).
He has been with Tecnalia for 1 year in a hybrid role that combines the study of AI techniques and their application. He particularly works on optimization and regression studies; additionally, he is one of the nodes linking Digital Cores AI with the TECU division. Currently, he has a paper pending publication in Springer on urban route planning for the elderly and hopes to publish more in this field under the context of the URBANAGE project.
He holds a C1 level certification in Basque awarded by the UPV and can speak English fluently
