Personal profile
ShortBio
Andrea Sarasola-Sanz, PhD studied a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering at the University Politecnica de Madrid. In 2012, she received the Double-Degree EU-USA Atlantis Scholarship to study a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Connecticut, USA, where she also worked as teaching assistant. She completed her two engineering degrees with her Master Thesis on the motor rehabilitation of patients with facial paralysis at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy. In 2013, she was awarded with the La Caixa-DAAD scholarship to carry out her PhD in Neuroscience about brain-machine interfaces for stroke rehabilitation at the Max Planck Research School of the University of Tuebingen, Germany, completed in 2019. Since 2018, she has been working as a project manager at TECNALIA Research and Innovation, Spain. She has recently complemented her work experience with a MBA at the EAE Business School. Throughout her education she also gained experience in the design and execution of clinical trials with medical devices and holds several publications in the field of signal processing and neural signal decoding algorithms. Her research topics include rehabilitation engineering, neurotechnology, robotics and human-machine interactions.
