ShortBio

PhD in Physics in 2016 by Complutense University in Madrid, specialized in atmospheric physics. I started in 2008 as junior researcher in the environmental division of Tecnalia, focused on urban air quality and climate. I presented my PhD thesis in January 2016, with the title, ‘Development of urban parameterization and city-atmosphere coupling optimization’, where I tested improvements on the so called Building Effect Parameterization. I joined the department of Geography in the National University of Singapore in March 2016 as post doctoral researcher, focusing on the urban impact on storm development, in collaboration with the Centre of Climate Research from Singapore (CCRS). More precisely, I contributed to the development and evaluation of the uSINGV, and further use of the model to investigate city storms interaction.

In 2021 I started in the environmental unit of Tecnalia as urban air quality modeller. To date, I have contributed to several projects involving micro and mesoscale modelling, as well in the deployment of air quality sensor networks. Since May 2024, I am also part of the meteorology group of the university of Cantabria, contributing to the development of climate scenarios and the interactions with urban areas, and involved in the FPS-URB CORDEX initiative. During my career I have published several papers in Q1 journals as first and contributing author, and participated in various conferences. I am currently co advising my second master thesis.
