Asier Fernandez Iribar obtained a master’s degree in Control, Automation and Electronics Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) in 2007, where he was lecturer in Control theory for six months. At the end of 2007, he started working in the Health Division of Tecnalia where his main work there was focused on developing assistive technologies where he holds a patent.

In 2011 he spent a six-month stay at Edinburgh's Heriot-Watt University carrying out a project on artificial vision. Since then, in Tecnalia he has participated in public and private funded projects in Tecnalia’s Health and Industry & Mobility divisions. Mains tasks are focused in robot control for medical and industrial applications.
