Mr. Asier Oleaga is a senior researcher in the Energy, Climate and Urban Transition unit at Fundación Tecnalia Research & innovation with more than 20 years of experience in R&D and technology transfer private and public local and european level (FP7, H2020, HE) projects at Tecnalia. Geologist, graduated on “Applied Geological Sciences” by the Basque Country University (1997) -Erasmus year at St. Andrews Univ. Scotland (1997). Has skills in industrial and urban waste valorization technologies for new construction materials and new Circular Economy Models assessment. Also, in the fields of Polluted Soil Remediation (participated in the Basque Government expert panel), hydrogeology, environmental and human health risk analysis, and Geodiversity dissemination. His interest as researcher is focused on the research of new industrial and waste valorization for innovative low carbon footprint materials obtention. He currently participates in projects addressing Circular Economy Models (CEM) and CO2 uptake (Carbon Capture & Use CCU), by wastes mineralization for new low carbon construction materials (SCM, low carbon binders and concretes of high circularity). Collaborated also in the elaboration of several Technical Guidelines, and Coo-author of 5 publications, one being the winner of the “Prize for BEST INNOVATION in the 26th Abu Dhabi World Road Congress” (PIARC: World Road Association, 2019), and participation in 7 congresses.
