Beatriz Aberasturi holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the School of Engineering of Bilbao (2006) and a Master’s in Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Environment, Occupational Health & Safety, and CSR – ECA, 2009). Since 2023, she has been the Head of the Bioeconomy and CO₂ Platform at TECNALIA.

Since 2007, she has been involved in local, national, and international R&D&I projects at TECNALIA in the fields of environment and energy. From 2014 to 2016, she was part of the International Expansion team of TECNALIA’s Energy and Environment Division.

Between 2016 and 2022, she served as Market Manager for the Chemical, Petrochemical, and Eco-industry sectors, identifying technological needs and supporting companies in developing innovative R&D solutions. In 2022, she worked as a project manager in TECNALIA’s Sustainable Chemistry group. She is also a member of the Spanish Sustainable Chemistry Technology and Innovation Platform, SusChem España.

Beatriz has extensive experience in technologies for CO₂, capture, fixation, and valorisation (CCUS), as well as in the design and commissioning of reactors and pilot plants, and in chemical process simulation and optimisation (Aspen-Hysys). Her background also includes biomass production and valorisation, and engineering projects related to fine particle control and the reduction of PCDD/PCDF emissions in electric arc furnaces, among other relevant areas.
