Beatriz Sanchez Sarachu is a senior researcher in energy planning within the energy and environment division of Tecnalia. She holds a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of the Basque Country (2004). From 2006 to 2008, Beatriz enjoyed a specialization scholarship from the Iñaki Goenaga Technological Centers Foundation at the company Cidemco. Since 2010, she has worked in the Energy and Environment Division of Tecnalia, focusing her activities on defining decarbonization plans, developing sustainability assessment frameworks through indicators, conducting environmental impact assessments of technologies, analyzing energy scenarios using life cycle and cost analysis methodologies (LCA, LCCA), and their derived applications in developing ad-hoc energy planning tools and supporting eco-design and environmental assessment, among others. Since 2018, Beatriz has actively participated in industry-focused projects, concentrating on creating energy plans and decarbonization roadmaps for the five most relevant industrial sectors in the Basque Country (Net Zero Basque Industrial Super Cluster of SPRI), for Navantia S.A., the Port Authority of Puerto Alvarado, and Mercedes-Benz Vitoria, among others. At the European level, she has worked on various projects (GRETA, mySMARTLife, AZEB, S-parcs), focusing her activities on strategic development and planning in energy and environment, through the development of energy and sustainability methodologies and indicators. Beatriz has also actively participated in the development of Tecnalia DecarbIndustry (registration number: TX9277366), aimed at prospective energy modeling for the industry to create decarbonization plans.
