Ms. Elena Terradillos received her MEng in Telecommunication Engineering in 1998 from the Basque Country University. She joined TECNALIA (starting at Robotiker) in June 1998, where currently she is a senior researcher in the CORES area of the DIGITAL operational unit. For many years, her technological expertise has been focused on FPGA design for telecommunication and control systems equipment, mainly for applications requiring data processing at high speed. Her FPGA related activities also include the design of FPGA based embedded systems with hardware (AMD-Xilinx ZYNQ and ZYNQ MPSoC devices) or software (MicroBlaze, NiosII) processors, as well as FPGA partial reconfiguration and hardware acceleration. Her research areas have been related to technologies for next generation networks such as passive optical networks, video over IP and Ethernet over SONET/SDH/PDH. She is co-developer of the GPON Doctor analyzer (www.gpondoctor.com) for passive optical networks. Since September 2018 she works in the field of artificial intelligence applied to image and spectral signals processing. Her latest projects are related to the application of deep learning algorithms to process signals from Raman, IR and visible spectroscopy. She has also applied those techniques to process simulated signals from quantum sensors. By January 2024, she has participated in 7 European research projects, 11 public funded national research projects, and in 28 research contracts with private companies.
