Personal profile
ShortBio
Mechanical engineer from the University of Glasgow (United Kingdom) and the University of Navarra (Spain), he started working at TECNALIA in 1994. His initial activity focused on the failure analysis department, later he focused on the development of monitoring and actuation systems, design and manufacturing of test benches and mechatronic systems.
He currently coordinates the Manufacturing Processes and Materials business area within the Industry and Mobility unit of TECNALIA, leading a group of 90 researchers and technicians. He has extensive experience in research, development and innovation, having coordinated numerous European framework program and privately funded projects for relevant market sectors (Aeronautics, Space, Automotive) covering different technologies, materials and manufacturing processes.
His areas of knowledge are related to metallic, ceramic, polymeric and composite materials, also providing the design and validation capabilities of mechatronic systems to develop final parts and products. The lines of research in which he works seek to generate economic and social impact and prosperity. He has participated in numerous works presented at conferences, 5 indexed publications and 5 patents.
