Senior Researcher Climate Change Adaptation Team- TECNALIA 

BA in Geography (University of Oviedo, Spain) MSc in Environmental Sciences (School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK). PhD Student in Society, Policy and Culture (University of Basque Country, Spain). Extensive applied research experience in sustainable and climate resilient territorial planning, considering both regional and urban levels. Currently leading the thematic area of nature-positive and climate-resilient development through spatial and urban planning in Tecnalia. Proven experience in both - service contracts and publicly funded initiatives (i.e. European Commission, FPVII, H2020, HEU, LIFE, ESPON) - designed to support public administrations and private entities involved in territorial planning across various planning scales. A core focus is integrating climate considerations into planning instruments, ensuring they are climate law aligned, with a nature-positive approach that enhances biodiversity, mitigates climate risks, and promotes sustainable development. Currently involved in a number of projects for the EU Mission on Climate Adaptation (Regions4Climate, DESIRMED, Nbracer) as well as on nature positive development for the implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Law  (UNP+ for the delivery of Urban Nature Plans in EU). Active member of NetworkNature Task Forces, co-leading a Work Stream on Nature-based Solutions and Spatial Planning.
