Gorka Imbuluzqueta García, has a Master’s degree in chemistry at Chemistry school at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), with the specialty in macromolecules and polymers in the year 2000.
Works in TECNALIA since 2002 (previously Inasmet). He started working on improving thermoplastic processing methods, resin synthesis and polymer characterization. He has taken an active part in several industrial projects in different departments and worked at the Center for Chemical Characterization. He has extensive experience in thermoplastic and thermosetting materials, in their processing; focusing on the manufacture of composites, as well as the characterization of polymeric and nanocomposite materials. He has participated in a significant number of R+D+i projects for the photovoltaic sector, focusing on the manufacture of solar modules, developing new concepts for module manufacturing, interconnection of cells and implementation of new materials, as well as the characterization of themselves. During these years he has participated in several articles published in high impact journals with, and he is co-author of some patents.
He is making his PhD in collaboration with the ‘Materials + Technologies’ Research Group (GMT) of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Environment of the UPV/EHU, focused on the development of new composite materials with improved recyclability for photovoltaics.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
