Dr. Iñaki Ortego-Isasa got his Telecommunication Engineering bachelor degree and Master of Science in Telecommunication Engineering with honours from the University of Navarre (Spain) in 2010. He also obtained an intensification diploma of Bioengineering and during this period he had international research experience as an exchange student in Chalmers University of Technology, Goteborg (Sweden) in 2009 and in the Engineering College Of Copenhagen in 2007. During 2011 to 2014, he got the International PhD. (Cum Laude) in Applied Engineering funded by a competitive Scholarship from Basque Government from Tecnun-CEIT, University of Navarre in collaboration with Queen Mary University of London where he studied the interaction between the electromagnetic waves and human body for communications with implants and design of flexible electronics. In 2015, he led the antenna design department of MyRuns Technology company, experts on the design of RFID systems, especially RFID tags. In 2016, he started working as a postdoc research scientist in the Neuroprosthetics group of the Institute of Medical Psychology and Behavioral Neurobiology, University of Tübingen with Dr. Ander Ramos and Prof. Niels Birbaumer. In 2017 he got a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Basque Country Government to continue his postdoc in collaboration with Tecnalia (Neurotechnology group) and University of Tubingen. His expertise is mainly focused on bioelectromagnetics (understanding the interaction of the electromagnetic waves and the human body), neurotechnology (design of magnetic stimulation devices), the design, characterization and optimization of antennas for implanted applications (such as peacemakers) and for interacting with the nervous system and in the design and fabrication of flexible electronics using Inkjet Printing Technology.
