Since 2013 in Offshore Renewable Energy area at Tecnalia Research&Innovation in projects related to floating offshore wind and ocean energy, mainly focused on the design, optimization and monitoring of mooring systems and new materials for offshore environment, including material testing at real environmental conditions in Tecnalia floating laboratory HarshLab. Floating offshore wind activity is mostly focused on semisubmersible platform concept, including platform and mooring design as well as research on numerical modelling approaches. Previous activity in Tecnalia was dedicated to the improvement of manufacturing processes by means of ICT tools and CAE simulation techniques, mainly focused on metalforming sector.
