Industrial Engineer by the University of Navarra in 1999. He worked at the IDEKO Technology Center until 2001, participating in European projects related to machine tools. In 2001 he joined the Tekniker Foundation's Micro and Nanotechnologies department as a researcher. Between 2001 and 2002 he completed a Master's degree in Precision Engineering at Cranfield University (United Kingdom). During his stay at Tekniker he carried out precision equipment design, microassembly and laser micromachining activities, leading several projects in these fields. He is co-author of several publications on micromachining using femtosecond lasers.
In October 2007, he joined the mechanics department in Fundacion Fatronik where he was involved in capital goods design activities. Since the creation of Tecnalia R&I in 2011, Igor works in the Production Means and Robotics area, within the Industry and Mobility Division, on production process automation projects, involving design, calculation and optimization of parts and assemblies.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
