Irene Amiano Urruzola

She graduated in Biology from the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) in 2008. Since then, she has been working at TECNALIA, initially in the Ecotoxicity laboratory studying the environmental toxicity of chemical products on aquatic and terrestrial organisms in accordance with European OECD guidelines under the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) quality system and participating in national and European research projects on the environmental impact of nanomaterials.

Since 2013 she has been working in the Bioefficacy laboratory of the Pharma area and is currently in charge of the laboratory. The activities carried out during her more than 10 years of experience in the field of monitoring and research related to the breeding of hematophagous arthropods (mosquitoes, ticks, head lice...), the performance of biological efficacy studies for the registration of biocidal products for their commercialisation and the participation in national and European research projects with both public and private funding, provide her with a broad knowledge of her field.
