Personal profile
ShortBio
Itziar Aspuru Soloaga has a degree in Physics (1989) from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (Spain).
After a short experience in software technologies at Philips (Eindhoven), since 1991 she has focused her knowledge on acoustics: she enjoyed a 2-year scholarship at Labein and participated in the start-up phase of AAC (private company). In 2001 she joined Tecnalia, becoming a specialist in environmental acoustics and achieving national and international projection for the results of projects carried out, mainly for transport network managers and local, regional and national governments.
At Tecnalia she participated in the start-up of the company ACUS-G and in the development of an acoustic mitigation product that led to the creation of the company ACUSTRAIN.
She is currently responsible for the Comfort and Environmental Quality team at Tecnalia, which works on noise, air quality and environmental perception.
Research interests
She is currently interested in
a) collaborating with transport network managers to perform a consistent characterization of the parameters that determine the modeling of transport noise;
b) in environmental digital twins to manage the integration of air quality and noise, their correlation, the effects on human health and well-being and their dynamics in the city; and
c) collaborating with manufacturers to design new abatement solutions.
