Bachelor’s degree in chemical sciences from the University of the Basque Country (2000). Master’s degree in environmental management systems (2002) and Diploma title in Advanced Studies in Polymer Science and Technology (2005).

She has more than 20 years’ experience in the development of R&D projects. Her lines of research are especially focused on the development of new ingredients with functional activity (polyphenols, carotenes, fatty acids, peptides, etc.). She highlights her experience in the application of encapsulation technologies to improve the stability, bioavailability and efficacy of functional compounds by micro- and nano-capsule systems development. In 2003 she participated in a 16 weeks training process at the ENITIAA (Nantes, France) for the specialization in encapsulation strategies.
