Izaskun Santamaría is a Computer Engineer from the University of Deusto. She is currently the head of CORE Software Technologies in the Digital unit of the Tecnalia Research & Innovation Foundation. She began her professional career in 2001 at the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Deusto, performing teaching tasks. Since October 2002, she has worked as a specialist in optimizing software development processes. Notably, she led the first implementation of CMMI for Acquisition (level 3) in Spain at the Directorate General of Traffic of the Ministry of the Interior, with CMMI for Acquisition being a specific model for managing software and systems suppliers. She is an expert in Requirements Engineering and Technical Debt. She is currently developing her doctoral thesis in the field of technical debt associated with the software development lifecycle.
