He is Degree in Chemical Engineering. At present he develops his professional activity in the Waste Valorisation Dept. integrated in the Energy, Climate and Urban Transition Unit of TECNALIA, where he has been working since 1996 in the development of waste treatment and valorisation processes, by means of hydrometallurgical, pyrometallurgical and plasma technologies. He is also involved in the design, development and implementation of processes validation at laboratory level and at pilot plant scale. He has participated in several European and private projects related to the following main subjects:  recovery of resources from wastes, pre-treatment of different waste streams to allow the recycling of their metal content, and elimination of contaminant organic fractions, as well as waste treatment/inertization by means of stabilization, carbonation etc.... During the last years he has been involved in several European projects (REEcover, COLABATS, REMAGHIC, METGROW PLUS, CROCODILE, TARANTULA, PLATIRUS, PEACOC, SAMEX, RHINOCEROS, LICORNE, REEPRODUCE, ION4RAW) focused on the recovery of strategic and critical elements, including Rare Earth and Platinum Group Metals, from different industrial and mining sources by hydro, iono and pyrometallurgical technologies.
