Graduated in 1991 at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, in Telecommunication Engineering. He has a master on Industrial Software Engineering (1995), at EHU-UPV University. Since 1995, Jon Agirre Ibarbia is working in TECNALIA as co-ordinator in R&D projects related to Manufacturing automation and Robotics and Head of Strategic Research Programmes for Manufacturing and Robotics. Mr. Jon Agirre participates in ManuFuture ETP and EFFRA association for Made in Europe PPP and is Member of the Board of Directors of euRobotics aisbl since March 2013 (since 2008 in the board of EURON and EUROP) and of its Executive Team. From 2021-2024 he was Member of the Board of Directors of ADRA aisbl. ADRA is the AI, Data and Robotics Association that forms the private side of the European Partnership for Artificial Intelligence, Data and Robotics in Horizon Europe. Since 2013 until Feb. 2018 was member of the H2020 LEIT-NMBP Advisory Group for the EC. Since 2010, he has organised a series of Entrepreneurship workshops at the European Robotics Forum.
