He received a master’s degree in Engineering of Advanced Materials from the University of the Basque Country in 2016, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Cum Laude) from the same university in 2021. Jon Mikel was awarded the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize for his thesis, “Tribological and Fatigue Properties of New Aluminum Alloys Based on the High Entropy Concept.”
In 2016, he joined Tecnalia’s Department of Manufacturing Processes and Materials, where he has been working as a researcher. He focuses on developing new sustainable alloys with improved mechanical properties through computational design techniques.
Jon Mikel is the author or co-author of more than 15 scientific papers, has contributed to around 10 national and international conferences, and holds 3 patents. He is also a regular reviewer for international journals.
