Technical Engineer in Industrial Chemistry from the University School of Industrial Technical Engineers of Bilbao. Class of 1989. Since 1990, he worked for 3 years at the Labein Technological Center as field technician making controls of polluting emissions to the atmosphere. In 1993, he joined the Department of Environment of Inasmet, working in the ​​Atmospheric Pollution area. In 1998, he is responsible for the management of the area and implements an accredited quality system for the inspection and control of polluting emissions. Since 2008 he moved to Waste Valorization group of Inasmet-Tecnalia which is focused on the development of hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical processes for waste treatment. He has extensive knowledge about industrial processes and waste generated by several activities (steel and foundry plants, paper mills, waste management, etc.), derived from the experience in the inspection and control activities. Currently, his work at Tecnalia focuses on the development of iono, hydro and pyrometallurgical processes at lab scale for the treatment of waste and their scaling up to pilot plant, within the Circularity area belonging to the Energy, Climate and Urban Transition unit.
