Joseba Laka is currently the Digital Director at TECNALIA. He has over 28 years of experience in the ICT sector, 10 of which were in the private sector (telecommunications and IT). He was one of the 16 authors of the Spanish R&D&I Strategy in Artificial Intelligence developed by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities (2019). He is currently part of the steering group of the Basque Artificial Intelligence Center (BAIC), specifically in the Data Strategy and AI application project promotion teams. Since 2022, he has also led the development of the strategy in the Digital Health line focused on AI of the RIS3 steering group in the Basque Country. He also collaborates with various institutions in the development of strategies and positions, such as the Elcano Royal Institute (Cyberpolitics GT). In the past, he has been part of the governance of different technological platforms in the Basque Country (GAIA Cluster), Spain (e.g., PROMETEO of Intelligent Systems), or Europe (ARTEMIS JU).
