Graduated in Architecture in 2003 from the University of Navarra (UNAV). Master's in "Rehabilitation, Restoration, and Integral Management of Built Heritage" in 2016 from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Currently finalizing the Doctoral Thesis titled "Protocol for the in-situ structural classification of existing oak structures through visual classification and non-destructive testing". Guest lecturer in several official master's programs and academic committee member of the Master's in Structures, Construction, and Wood Design at UPV/EHU.
Since joining TECNALIA in 2008, he has developed services and projects related to structural wood, especially in the field of inspection, diagnosis, and calculation of existing structures. Currently, he continuously participates in the enhancement of existing structures, many of which have heritage value. The specific research topics he is actively involved in include the calculation of existing wooden structures, their repair and reinforcement, as well as the enhancement and structural classification of wood recovered from demolitions, with particular interest in oak and other hardwoods.
