Dr. Lara Diaz de Greñu Ballestero, PhD. Senior Research Scientist at Tecnalia.

She holds a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Deusto, Bilbao (Spain) and a PhD in Clinical Neurosciences from the University of Cambridge (UK), where she focused her research on the optimisation of MRI data for dementia studies. Among other grants, she received a Vulcanus in Japan scholarship (2008-2009) granted by the European Commission to work as a developer of medical software at the Japanese company Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) in Tokyo for a year and a Pinsent-Darwin scholarship granted by the University of Cambridge to develop her PhD. She holds several publications in journals such as Brain or Neuroimage.

Since 2014 she has been a senior researcher in the Neurotech group at Tecnalia, participating and leading Brain Machine Interface projects for neurorehabilitation in stroke, insomnia or neurodegenerative diseases where the main technologies in use are signal processing for electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG) and functional electrical stimulation (FES). She is also the President of Innovation Forum Euskadi, an international network of Health and Technology.
