Laura Barriuso Leoz has a Geological Sciences Degree specialized in Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology and Environmental Geology from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1998 and a Diploma from the XXXIII International Hydrogeology Course at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Barcelona, in 1999. She has worked in the Geotechnics area at Lurgintza Ingeniería Geológica, Técnicos Asociados Terra Nova, and as a freelance for Idom and Sener for seven years doing Geotechnical Reports for edification, studies in landfills, studies of slope stability, hydrogeological studies, foundations, etc..In 2006 she did studies of soil quality at Inguru Ingeniería y Gestión Ambiental. From 2007 she works in Tecnalia, (Construction Unit and Territorial Development), conducting studies of soil quality, excavation plans, alternative sanitation and hydrogeological studies and pollutant dispersion. Since 2013 works as a part of a team as a technical assistance for the research of technical reports in the field of procedure statement soil contamination, regulated by Law of 4 February 1/2005, prevention and correction of pollution land of the Basque Country. Laura is accredited by the Basque Government as a Head of a Project under Decree 199/2006.
She also collaborates in geotechnical analysis and construction-rehabilitation projects of unique buildings and transport structures.
In 2019, Laura started to work in research projects which aims to develop a digital application to manage in a complete digitalized way the tunnel inspection process in Road infrastructures.
From 2020, it will start working on European projects and local R+D+I+I projects aimed at infrastructure inspection and slope control.
