Director of Health and Food area in TECNALIA since 2005. Chemical engineering degree and PhD in Science by the University of the Basque Country. More than 30 years of experience in R&D and technology transfer projects in the Food sector. She has participated in 14 international research projects (coordinating two of them), 86 research contracts with private companies and more than 82 public funded R&D projects. Her research interest focus in on the development of processes for obtaining ingredients through physical-chemical processes, their stabilization by drying and micro and nanoencapsulation and development of new foods, including functional foods. She works in close contact with the food industry, carrying out developments that allow it to increase its competitiveness. 40+ peer-reviewed scientific publications, 3 patents and supervisor of 5 PhDs.
