Received the M.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering: intensification in Mechanical Design, from the University of Basque Country (UPV-EHU), in 2011.
In 2016 she received another M.Sc. degree in Numerical Simulation in Engineering, from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), where she complemented her training in aspects related to Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Methods for Finite Elements analysis (FEM).
Since November of 2011 she has been working with TECNALIA Research & Innovation, where she is currently a senior researcher on the field of offshore renewable energy.
During 2018-2019, she worked part time at NAUTILUS Floating Solutions S.L. in Derio (Vizcaya), where she was a design engineer of a semi-submersible structure concept for floating offshore wind. Currently, she continues collaborating with this company providing consulting services.
She brings over thirteen years of experience in the design (based on international codes and standards) and calculation of offshore structures on the frame of marine renewable energy; As well as, on the implementation of hydrodynamic characterizations of floating devices, on the calculation of stability and naval architecture, on the design of marine operations and on the techno economic assessments of platforms for offshore wind turbines and wave energy converters.
She has worked on several R&D projects concerning wind and ocean energy, including the European projects LIFES50+ (H2020 for proving cost effective technology for floating substructures for 10MW wind turbines at water depths greater than 50 m) and DTOceanPlus (H2020 for producing open-source design tools for selection, development and deployment wave and tidal energy arrays), the MARINEL project (ETORGAI Basque Government project for the development of offshore auto-installable substation) and the HARSH project (HAZITEK Basque Government project for the development of floating laboratory for validating materials, components and equipment in real offshore environment).
Currently, she collaborates with the Master in Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment coordinated by the University of the Basque Country.
She is the author or co-author of more than 15 papers and conference presentations at national and international forums related to offshore renewable energy. She is also co-author of two patents. One is related to an offshore connection system for wave energy converters and the other one to the design of a floating platform for offshore wind purposes.
