Myriam Vaca received her degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering from the School of Engineering of Badajoz (University of Extremadura), Spain, in 2015 and her Master's degree in Automation and Robotics from the Polytechnic University of Madrid in 2018. She worked for one year at the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA), France, in 2016, where her research focused on low-level control systems for automated vehicles. She has been a researcher at Tecnalia since 2018. Her research focuses on driver monitoring and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications for automated vehicles.

She is a member of the ACCAM group within Tecnalia's Industry and Mobility area. She is currently pursuing her doctoral thesis, which focuses on determining driver reliability by considering both driver state and environmental conditions (through V2X).
