Nerea García-Urquía obtained her degree in Biological Sciences (1998) and worked in the development of experimental in vivo and ex vivo models Donostia Hospital (1998-2009). At present she is a researcher in the Biomaterials Area-Health Unitat  Fundación Tecnalia Research & Innovation with more than 12 years of experience in the Biomaterials area. In the last 9 years she has focused her research on the investigation of tissue decellularization methods particularly related to adipose and cornea. These investigations have resulted in a patent “Method for producing a decellularized tissue matrix” W02016E82849 and various publications. She is currently focusing her research on the application of adipose ECM-derived biomaterials to afford her pHD at the Cell Biology and Histology department of the Medicine-Faculty of the Basque Country University in Spain.
