ShortBio
Nerea Otaño Aramendi, Aeronautical engineering from ETSIA of polytechnic Madrid (2012) and PhD in mechanical structure of materials from the university of Paris-Saclay in 2016, title of the thesis “Réduction du coût de calcul pour la simulation du comportement mécanique de câbles”.
She worked in IKERLAN (2012-2015) and ORONA EIC (2016-2020) as a researcher participating in several R&D projects funded by the Basque government focusing on the mechanical modelling of lift’s wire ropes.
Since 2020, she is part of the Fire Safety Lab of TECNALIA, participating and leading several local and EU research projects. Her activity has been focused on the analysis of the fire safety performance of renewable energy sources as photovoltaics and its impact in the fire safety of the buildings. Moreover, she has been working on the simulation of the fire performance of them by FDS.
