Oscar is a Junior Researcher at TECNALIA Research & Innovation, part of the Cybersecurity group within the Digital department. Previously, he was Research Intern and later Research Assistant at the University of Deusto. He received the B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Deusto, the M.Sc. degree in Information and Communications Security from the Alfonso X El Sabio University, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in the field of System Security from the University of Deusto.

His most recent research activity has been oriented towards the analysis of memory corruption vulnerabilities and concurrency bugs in C/C++ programs. In particular, towards the detection of concurrency memory corruption vulnerabilities through dynamic binary instrumentation. Nevertheless, his research interests are within the area of software and system security, including vulnerability analysis, applied artificial intelligence, and the development of detection and mitigation methods for software vulnerabilities and attacks.
