Senior Industrial Mechanical Engineer, he began his professional experience, from 1993 to 1997, in the field of product development for the transport and automotive sector. Since 1998, previously at INASMET and later at TECNALIA, specialized in the development and manufacture of components and structures in composite materials.

 

He has more  than 25 years of experience in the management of research projects related to composite materials in Spanish and European projects and he has worked in more than 50 projects in this field.

He currently leads projects aimed at the development, manufacture, industrialization and validation of advanced components in composite materials including different application sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, naval, railway, etc, addressing for example new mobility advanced applications like battery boxes and H2 storage tanks. In particular, projects related to the optimization of non-autoclave processes like RTM/ Infusion, press forming, ATL/ AFP and fast/ efficient heating both based on thermoset composites and thermoplastic composites (in this case with technologies thermo stamping, in situ consolidation or reactive in situ polymerization).

 

He is currently Head of the Composites and Multimaterial platform/ team in the Processes and Materials area of the Industry and Mobility Unit of TECNALIA.

He has participated in national and international conferences, 4 patents.
