Saioa Zorita Castresana received her MSc in Chemistry in 2002 (Basque Country University, Spain) and a PhD in environmental chemistry in 2008 (Lund University, Sweden). After a postdoctoral stay (2009) in France, she has been working in TECNALIA since 2010 at the City, Territory and Environment Department. Her work focused on water-related issues and more recently on adaptation strategies. Her work is devoted to advancing dynamic adaptive policymaking for urban socio-ecologic systems via adaptation and resilience pathways, which allows identifying, assessing, and building a sequence of potential adaptation actions (RESIN, GrowGreen, ARCH, P2R, NBRACER and DESIRMED EU projects) considering climate uncertainty. Furthermore, she is involved in monitoring frameworks to assess adaptation solution’s impacts to improve resilience as part of her contribution to the H2020 CLEVER cities. She has also developed tools dedicated to integrating adaptation management within the framework of local policies and Bilbao’s and Malaga’s adaptation/climate plan. Since 2018 she has also been involved in standardization activities through standardisation forums (ISO/TC 207/SC 7 and CEN TC 467 through national mirror standardisation body) and project’s activities (CLEVER, ARCH, Climateurope2) within adaptation to climate change scope.
