Holds a degree in Physical Sciences from the University of the Basque Country (1986). He has over 25 years of experience in R&D&I projects, having first worked at the technological center Robotiker and currently at Tecnalia Research & Innovation, where he is a principal researcher and director of R&D&I Programs in the ICT-European Software Institute division. During this time, he has participated in and led numerous R&D projects related to manufacturing systems control, design and programming of control and supervision systems, use of advanced techniques for process control and supervision (neural networks, fuzzy logic), applications of infomobility, smart cities, logistics and transportation, and the application of information and communication technologies to the commerce and tourism sectors.
