Personal profile

ShortBio

I am Jesús López, a passionate of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with extensive experience as a Research Scientist at Tecnalia, the largest applied research center in Spain and one of the most relevant in Europe. My mission is to explore, develop and transfer scientific-technological solutions in AI that generate value for society and organizations. My field of expertise is Adaptive AI, which addresses the challenges posed by dynamic and changing environments for machine learning systems. I am also interested in AI Ethics, Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), AI Governance, and AI Alignment with human values, among other topics.

In addition to my work at Tecnalia, I collaborate with the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) as an Affiliate Professor since 2022, where I lead Master's theses in Data Science, Computer Engineering and Computational Mathematics. I also collaborate with the University of Deusto where I co-supervise a PhD thesis in AI. Also, I have been a Visiting Researcher at the KEDRI Institute of the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand in 2017-2018 thanks to an Erasmus Mundus grant from the European Commission. In my professional career, I have participated in several research and innovation projects, published several scientific papers in high impact journals and conferences, and contributed to the dissemination of AI nationally and internationally.

This gave me the experience and expertise to understand and critique current and future trends in AI and technology, evaluate different strategies, and have a holistic and long-term understanding and vision of their global impact.
