Expertise: Experimental and modelling analysis of damage mechanisms in metallic materials, with a focus on fracture, fatigue, and environmentally assisted cracking.
His primary research area is the environmentally assisted cracking behaviour of metallic materials. He possesses extensive experience with various experimental techniques to characterize crack initiation, microstructurally short cracking, and macroscopic crack growth in harsh environments. His skills include advanced microscopy and in-situ synchrotron tomography for the 3D visualization of crack growth.
Additionally, he is adept at modelling the fracture behaviour of materials on both microstructural and macroscopic scales and has also designed and developed custom rigs to test materials under harsh environmental conditions.
