Urtza Iturraspe holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Deusto University, Bilbao, Spain (2000), a Master's in "E-Business" from Deusto University (Bilbao, Spain) (2000-2001), an MSc in "Language Technologies" from the University of the Basque Country (2007), and a Research Proficiency Title in Language Technologies from the University of the Basque Country (2007). Since 2001, she has been working as a researcher at Tecnalia Research & Innovation.

Currently, she works as a Senior Researcher in the Digital - Core HPA area, High-Performance Platforms, and as part of the High-Performance Architecture (HPA) group, where she actively works with Big Data Technologies, Data Spaces, IDSA... She often works continuously with disparate storage systems, both SQL and NoSQL databases, HBASE, Hive, MongoDB.

She is familiar with and has worked with CKAN, having installed the tool along with some of its extensions. She knows the Fiware platform, IDM KeyRock, PEP, BIZ Ecosystem (MarketPlace). Currently, she works on projects more related to IDS (Industrial Data Space), Gaia-X, data spaces.
