Víctor Sánchez Zabala gained his Master Degree in Industrial Engineering at the High School of Engineering of the University of Navarra (Tecnun), San Sebastián, in 2001. Since then, he developed his professional activity in engineering companies, working in the field of energy efficiency, focusing mainly on the optimization of thermal and electric systems for complex tertiary buildings. He acquired a comprehensive knowledge on high performance generation technologies (e.g. CHP, sorption, RES) and on dynamic simulation of building energy performance.
He has been part of TECNALIA, since 2008 participating in in research projects (e.g. FP7 & h2020 projects), as expert in building/district systems design, operational optimization and predictive maintenance, through advanced dynamic simulation (EnergyPlus and Modelica), Machine Learning/Transfer Learning and numerical optimization techniques.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
