Ms. Virginia Aseguinolaza (female), Bachelor Degree in Chemistry by the University of the Basque Country and Business & Technology Management by Deusto Business School.  She poses 24 years of experience in activities related to construction sector. She has taken part in many research projects (at national and European level), mainly related with construction materials development and characterization, many of them including novel advanced organic based composites. At the moment she is the manager of the Lab_services Unit in Tecnalia, being the responsible of the different Business Areas: Construction Lab Services, Electrical Lab Services, Industry Lab Services, Phama Lab Services and Digital Lab Services. directing a team of around 250 professionals taking into account market trends, laboratory requirements, certifications, consultancy and research.  She poses ample experience characterizing a wide range of materials including paints and varnishes, adhesives, sealants, plastic surfaces, high pressure lamination, wood and composites. She has worked and supervised the characterization of materials to evaluate: energy efficiency, acoustic insulation, protection against fire, Mechanical, thermal characteristics of materials and systems. She is also part of several standardization workgroups related to construction activities in notified bodies and the technical assessment body related to CPR /305/2011/EU, CTN-020: thermal insulating materials, CTN-41-GT325: security through urban planning; CTN-135: road equipment, and others, Certification: CTC-071: insulating glass units and European Organisation for Technical Assessments (EOTA). Several publications on coatings and their performance over 10 years (1995 – 2005), many of which are the result of R&D projects.
