He is Industrial Engineer from University of Navarra (TECNUN).
Head of Strategic Focus on Fire Safety at TECNALIA, with over 20 years of experience in Innovation and Research.
He is President of the Façades Technical Committee and a Plenary Member of EGOLF (European Association of Fire Laboratories).
He is co-leader of Subtask B, Pre-Normative Studies and Research, and Activity B1, related to Fire Safety of BIPV, within the IEA TASK 15. He is also member of IEA TASK 49 related to Fire Safety in EV.
He is a member of the EOTA (European Organisation for the Technical Assessment of Innovative Products) ad hoc group PT 04 on fire issues within the framework of the Construction Products Regulation. He currently leads a working group related to the safety of photovoltaic installations. He also acts as the EOTA liaison for the implementation of the Acquis CPR (Construction Products Regulation) in the areas of Industrialized Construction and Fire Safety.
He participates in numerous national (CTN 23) and European (CEN TC 127) standardization groups related to roofs, facades, structural elements, etc.
Finally, he actively participates in numerous R&D projects, e.g., in the areas of safe integration of photovoltaic systems, evaluation of building systems using bio-based materials, batteries for electric vehicles/infrastructures and offsite construction systems.
