Xabier Yurrebaso Asua is a Telecommunications Engineer who graduated from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in 2008. Since then, he has dedicated his professional career to research and development in the field of cybersecurity. He currently works as a senior researcher in industrial cybersecurity at the DIGITAL CORES group of TECNALIA Research and Innovation, where he participates in R&D projects aimed at improving the cybersecurity of critical infrastructures such as those responsible for the generation and distribution of electric power or industry.
He began his professional career in 2008 when he started working at INDRA on cybersecurity and cryptography projects for the financial sector. Until 2016, he developed almost his entire career in this sector until he began working at the IKERLAN Technology Center on the research of industrial cybersecurity measures and the application of the IEC 62443 standard for the protection of assets in critical infrastructures. Throughout his career, he has obtained certifications such as CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CySec Specialist (IEC62443-4-2), ITIL Foundation, and ITIL Continual Service Improvement.
