Our colleague Dr. Patricia Caballero, has received the award for the best technical article Vita Activa Industry, at the World Foundry Congress (WFC) held in Korea, last week. This award is a recognition of her work and contribution to the development of foundry with her research and case studies addressed to the industry, and her career as a professional woman in the foundry industry. It should be noted that this is the second time that the award has gone to a woman in the 74 editions of this congress. The 74th edition of the World Foundry Congress took place from October 18 to 22, 2022 in Busan, South Korea, bringing together 1,300 people, researchers and technicians from all over the world around the theme "Cast the Future". Since 1927, every 2 years and with the aim of a global exchange of know-how and active international cooperation from more than 32 countries, this congress and an associated trade fair takes place. This year more than 200 papers were presented, two of which were given by people from TECNALIA; Patricia Caballero and Ibán Vicario, both from the Manufacturing Processes and Materials area of the UO of I&M. Patricia participated as an invited speaker and as a member of the International Committee Board of the WFO and Ibán as a speaker of an oral presentation and chairman of the Casting day.
