Awards in decarbonization and environmental quality

The Decarbonization Plan of the Vitoria plant of Mercedes-Benz, in which we have played an outstanding role, has received the first prize in the "IX Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Awards" of the Association of Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Companies (A3E). These awards recognize organizations that are committed to and contribute to promoting sustainability in our country.

Of all the nominations submitted in this edition, the first prize in the category of best energy efficiency and sustainability performance was awarded to the Mercedes-Benz factory in Vitoria-Gasteiz, for the initiative "e-District: new concept of buildings, industrial environments and local industrial energy community". From TECNALIA we have helped the company to identify and develop the R&D&I initiatives necessary to carry out this decarbonization strategy of its Vitoria Plant in a competitive way and achieve the Zero Emissions challenge of Mercedes-Benz for the year 2039.

On the other hand, ACUSTRAIN has been awarded in the "Premios Expansión Start Up 2022" as the best company in the category of Mobility and Smart Cities. It has also obtained the third prize in the Environment and Energy category. You can watch the awards ceremony here.

ACUSTRAIN was born in 2020 in TECNALIA, in the Environmental Quality team, through its Venture Builder TECNALIA Ventures and together with Becsa (Grupo Simetría), specialized in infrastructures and building. The company was born from the development of a mini acoustic barrier that provides a solution to the noise problems caused by railroads in urban environments, thus improving the quality of life of people by improving their acoustic comfort.
